These are the main events of the Korea National Food Cluster, scheduled for August.

1. MOU with Korea Agency of HACCP Accreditation and Services

 

The Korea National Food Cluster will sign a MOU with Korea Agency of HACCP Accreditation and Services August 1. Food safety is the very basic in food industry. The Korea National Food Cluster is set to sign a MOU with Korea Agency of HACCP Accreditation and Services, to be recognized for a food cluster with safe and hygienic food production facilities and to promote HACCP accreditation. Education on safety management and HACCP is expected to ensure closer cooperation to establish reliable food production environments.

 

2. 2017 Seminar for Experts from Business, Academia and Research Institutions

 

A joint seminar of business, academic and research experts will be held August 9. As the Korea National Food Cluster began to play a bigger role to lead food industry of the nation, the importance of extensive research based on close cooperation with the business and academic sectors is growing bigger. The business-academia-research cooperation will help SMEs having difficulties in developing business case even with creative ideas, due to lack of infrastructure including technologies and expertise and will contribute to leading growth of food industry. We expect the seminar will offer an opportunity to share food industry outlook and seek the direction of further growth in H2, this year.

 

3. Promotional Presentation of Facilities and Equipment for Korea Polytechnics (Bio)

 

Partnership with educational institutions is essential to grow into a food specialized cluster. August 11, the Korea National Food Cluster will make presentation on business support facilities and equipment of the cluster for Korea Polytechnics where future talents are learning and growing. It will be an opportunity to introduce overall activities of the cluster, as well as advanced business support facilities and infrastructure.

 

4. Seoul National University F&P Breakfast Forum

 

The Korea National Food Cluster is making diverse efforts for development of F&B industry of Korea with many talents in diverse sectors. Professionals in these sectors are leading the efforts in each sector. To build extensive network and promote intellectual exchange in food industry, assistance from many more talents and professionals are required.

To this end, the Korea National Food Cluster will host a breakfast forum, inviting people related to F&B industry at Seoul National University. It will offer an opportunity to share information on the overall trend of the F&B industry and what is required for the cluster to grow further in the future.

 

5. Korea Management Innovation Association for Small and Medium Business (Jeonnam Branch) Visits the Support Center

 

Korea Management Innovation Association for Small and Medium Business will visit the Korea National Food Cluster August 22. The association is supporting SMEs to promote further growth with Main Biz certification project, financial support projects, educational projects and workforce support project. It is seeking diverse measures to help SMEs to grow into mid-sized companies through management innovation.

The Korea National Food Cluster is also playing a key role to oversee and operate support for SMEs in the cluster. The event is expected to be a valuable opportunity for the two parties to review the support initiatives of the cluster for member companies.

 

6. National Human Resources Development Institution, Jeonbuk Visits the Support Center

 

As the number of member companies increased and more staff began to work at the Korea National Food Cluster, training and nurturing is gaining greater importance. Sometimes, new workforce is hired to meet the needs of member companies and professional staff needs to be secured and trained to meet the needs from new projects. As part of efforts to meet the needs, those at National Human Resources Development Institution, Jeonbuk will visit the cluster August 29.

National Human Resources Development Institution, Jeonbuk is running educational programs to improve work capabilities and strengthen problem solving capabilities of government workers to help ensure their continuous growth. It will be an opportunity for the cluster to discuss and ponder what is required to nurture and train the staff of the cluster with National Human Resources Development Institution, Jeonbuk.

 

7. Recruitment of Start-up Support Lab Administrator

 

The Korea National Food Cluster will open Start-up Support Lab to support F&B start-ups by college students and the youth. The recruitment will be around mid-August.

It is to recruit operators who are interested in food industry and have commitment to building better environments for young businessmen. We are looking forward to seeing many applicants who have brilliant ideas on how to promote F&B start-ups by college students and the youth and have ambitious hope to make positive difference to contribute to national economic development.

Other than that, the schedule is full in August for the cluster, with events including evaluation of proposals for start-up support lab system development, evaluation of proposal for GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) and AAALAC-I (Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International) certification and notification on joint researches/ international joint R&D/projects.

 

We are looking forward to seeing active support and interest from all of you in August for the Korea National Food Cluster to create new history in food industry.
