Vietnamese Market trend, Let’s Look into it!



Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation(aT) recently reported on the Vietnamese food market. Main keywords that understand this market can be organized into premium foods, health and convenience stores.

The recent report titled “What’s Next in Food?” by Nielsen Vietnam shows the mood of the Vietnamese food market. The food market itself is expanding every year. Last year, the total volume of food sold through traditional and modern distribution networks rose 7 percent year-on-year.

The food group that caught the eye last year was snack, biscuits and cake pie. Among them, the sales growth of snacks was noticeable as 21 percent. It is analyzed that sales of snacks have increased significantly due to the growing variety of snack products including foreign ones. On the other hand, items such as instant noodles, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and fish sauce showed a similar growth trend.



In Vietnam, with the growing number of middle-class consumers, demand for premium food products with better quality and function is increasing. In particular, ‘health’ is one of the most noticeable keywords in the Vietnamese food market.
